Boys and Girls Club of North Valley

Make A Difference in a Young Person’s Life

Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley welcomes individuals in the community who want to support our efforts through Volunteering.

If you are interested in inspiring, motivating, and impacting the young people in our community, then the Boys & Girls Club is the place for you! Depending on your location we offer volunteer opportunities in Chico, Paradise, Magalia, and Oroville in the areas of tutoring, mentoring, coaching, special events, programming assistance, administrative support and more!
NOTE:  If you want more information on volunteering and ways to support the Club please call (530) 899-0335 or email

Becoming a Volunteer is as easy as 1-2-3!!!

1st:  Request and complete volunteer application.
2nd:  After turning in your completed application, set up a volunteer interview.  You will then be contacted about attending a volunteer orientation where you will learn all about the programs, services and volunteer opportunities available at our clubs.  Additionally, you will find out about our policies and approach to youth development and see if there are areas that fit with your interests.
3rd:  Clear a background check.  All ongoing volunteers who will be working with youth on a regular basis are carefully screened to ensure the safety of our members.  You will receive more information about this at the orientation.  If you or your group are only volunteering for a one time event or special fundraising event, a background check is usually not necessary.
Volunteers are a very important part of our team, and help us reach our mission; to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The dedication of our volunteers provides our members with valuable relationships and encouraging smiles that significantly enhance their quality of life!

Foster Grandparent Program - Through an ongoing partnership with  Passages  retired individuals may even qualify for a regular meal and a small stipend through regular volunteer duty.
College Student Internships and Volunteering - Through Chico State and Butte College there are a variety of internship opportunities that meet department requirements and credit eligibility.  We have always had a strong partnership with CAVE which places students at the Club through its EXCEL program.  Other departments such as Recreation, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Marketing, Child Development, Communications, Journalism and Public Relations have placed student volunteers with the Club.
Skill Based Volunteers – People with the skills, knowledge and abilities to support Club aspirations, finance and resource development, strategic growth, overall impact and board membership. These volunteers may also support programs by being a coach, referee, musical instructor, foreign language tutor, dance teacher, and yoga instructor etc…
Teenage Volunteers – We have various teenage volunteer positions through Teen Center programs such as Leaders in Training (LIT), Counselors in Training (CIT), senior projects and community service assignments. Call your local Teen Center for more information.
